What's next for climate action? Scientific consensus about climate change and its impacts, and the urgency for necessary changes, is clear. Yet some political leaders and groups that are opposed to climate action are increasingly vocal. Is the way we talk about the science of climate change encouraging understanding, or widening the gaps? How can science help us imagine a better, safer future, and can it support a hopeful message that crosses the political spectrum?

With a keynote address from Professor Hannah Cloke OBE, floods and extreme weather scientist, join an expert panel for a lively debate about the next chapter in public and political narratives around climate change.

When people already have enough to worry about, this event will show how you can use the power of human imagination to visualise a more positive future. 

The 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Climate Emergency Strategy & Action Plan 2025 - 2030 sets out a shared vision of a climate-friendly 17³Ô¹ÏÍø. Get up to speed on what it is, what it isn't and how you can get involved, as a local organisation, funder, volunteer or visionary.

Explore the wonders of climate and nature through outdoor play, child-led discovery, and hands-on fun. This week, we’ll become little weather explorers—learning to spot and understand weather symbols and icons in a fun, interactive way! For under 5s and their adults.

Join us for the official 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Climate Festival screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing film, which cuts through confusion and misinformation, presenting a clear, accessible overview of the climate emergency – and what communities can do next. The film will be followed by a facilitated discussion focused on 17³Ô¹ÏÍø's response to the climate emergency.

Local schools are invited to join us for an inspiring, hands on day of climate learning and action at the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Whiteknights Campus. This interactive event brings together local schools, 17³Ô¹ÏÍø staff, and Climate Ambassadors to explore practical ways to make schools greener, more resilient, and climate ready. Activities will include visiting the University’s exciting new Learning garden, which launches as part of the sessions on 16 June.

The Little Things that Run the World introduces viewers to a diverse group of scientists, nature lovers, gardeners, farmers, and general bug enthusiasts, who explore the importance of flying insects amid rapid declines in their numbers. Includes post-film panel discussion.
